Told the story of my introduction to Nothing Cool in yesterday’s post.
When I sat down to write this post, I put the record on to listen to. All of a sudden, the line “It’s like chewing on tin foil. It’s like walking on broken glass” came into my head and I couldn’t shake it. I could not for the life of me remember what song it was from. I turned to google, no help. “Oh well, get back to writing,” I thought.
Then the second song, Nowhere Else, started, and there it was. That line. I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve listened to Nothing Cool, and specifically that song before yesterday’s post, but it freaked me out a little that my brain knew what song was next before I did. Let that be a testament to how catchy and sticky these hooks are.
Today’s record is on Dummy Up Records, but there’s also a blurb about Beach Recordings in the liner notes, which makes me wonder if someone in the band wasn’t connected to the label.
